Hello Gayle! Welcome back!!! Yes, some of us noticed….were you on Spring Break??? Today, Gayle’s excited…Jennifer Hudson is in the house…and Gayle knows ALL of her songs and is ready to sing. Let’s get to it…we have lots to talk about…and only 60 minutes of tv time…
About Libya – It’s not being called a war….but it’s military action. It is being called a humanitarian mission to stop Gadhafi from killing his own people. Gayle calls it unsettling as she shows video of Gadhafi’s speech over the weekend, vowing for a long drawn out non-war. So, people are concerned about where do we go from here? “What is our mission?” is the question on the table. Gayle is not a fan of war and says, “I know neither is President Obama….he must know more…” I am not a fan of war….but it is also hard to sit and watch on CNN what is happening in that country…The Middle East is rich in culture and in history….and certainly seems to be going though a lot of growing pains this year….
About Jennifer Hudson – They get Jennifer all settled in and queue the music….and Gayle sings a little off-key. “So many good cuts on the album,” Gayle tells Jennifer….as they go into fashion. “What is your style?”….Jennifer tells us that she is busy discovering and adjusting to the new her…and her new body. She looks fantastic…and sings for us along with the video…and her talking about her little son, David. Gayle talks about the song, “Still here” off Jennifer’s album…and we get a little duet from Jennifer and Gayle….Gayle talks a little about meeting Jennifer’s mom and Jennifer tells us, “I try to do as she did for us…without family, you have nothing.” Jennifer’s sister brings out little David….who is adorable…and does a little duet with his mommy himself…It’s great to see her so happy…I do hope she is…
About Twitter turning FIVE – Happy Birthday little birdie Twitter… Confessions of a Twitteraholic right here… Gayle says she’s new to the Twitter party. People, people, people…join the party. Lady Gaga is the #1 followed person – over 8 million followers. Jared says, “It’s taught me to be more succinct in my words.” In 140 characters or less. Twitter has been very instrumental in helping people in Japan. It’s been tremendous…what about Egypt? It was almost like we were there. Happy birthday Twitter. Where’s the cake?
About Japan’s Survivors – A grandmother and her grandson found after 9 days in the rubble. It’s a little sunshine in such a dark tragedy. I hope they find more….
About Wrestling Champ, Anthony Robles – Defending wrestling champion who won again….and what makes his story interesting is that he was born with only one leg. Wow. Amazing what the mind, body, and soul can do for you…if you have the right attitude. Bravo Anthony. I think all of us could learn a lesson or two from you….
About Fighting Back Against a Bully – A video has gone viral. One kid has being picked on for many years …but in this case, there is a little guy picking on the bigger guy. Casey, the victim finally stood up for himself and says he snapped. He picked up the bully and body slammed him into the ground. So, what are we suppose to do? We tell our kids to walk away…to not fight back… At what point do we tell our kids to stand up for themselves? Now, the mom of the bully wants Casey to apologize. Be aggressive and use verbal cues early on are what Psychologist, Dr. Susan Lipkins, tells us. She specializes in bullying…and tells us that, “Yes, it’s ok to use physical force against a bully” when you have to defend your space or you are being hurt…Yes, I think it is.
About Gayle’s Weekend – First multi-theater complex in Newark, NJ…and Gayle had to be there for one of her best friends, Mayor Cory Booker of Newark, NJ. Along with the Mayor, we had Shaquille O’Neal…and Gayle’s flip cam. A little hand-shake going on…but Gayle, you did all right. So, did you see a movie…or at least test the popcorn???
Onto the rest of the day…I wonder what tomorrow will bring? A little more of my friend Gayle…It’s late as I finally finished catching up with this…I wonder if CNN is on at her house too…
