Gayle King Show

Monday on the Gayle King Show – January 24, 2011

Good morning everyone!  I woke up thinking, “Gotta make some strong coffee, get to work and turn on Gayle at 10am.”  This morning…I felt the love.  I just loved hearing her talk about Sergeant Shriver’s funeral and sharing a little of that experience with us.  I love that he left notes for his family to be opened when he died – the magnificent seven he called them.  I hope this starts an outpouring of people thinking about letters to leave behind…what a life long impression and lesson about service he has passed on.  What a tremendous man and a legacy that he has imprinted both on our country’s history and on his family.  So touching…I wish she had talked more about it….but I’m thankful that she shared the experience with us.

At last, Gayle is sounding like she feels much better.  It’s been tough to see her power through these last 2 weeks…I’ve been careful not to get too close to the TV in case she’s contagious.  Now, she sounds likes she’s up to at least 90%.  I loved her weekend of relaxation…going to D.C., then on to Utah.  My weekend of relaxation usually involves a hair scrunchie, wearing yoga pants all weekend, and a Tivo marathon.  Maybe it was the dose of Oprah fun that cured her!  Whatever the case, I am glad she’s feeling better.

All the discussion with Johhny Wier seemed honest and funny.  I have to say, I have seen him skate more than I have seen him talk.  But he was funny…and very open.  Good interview.  I wonder how open his book is that he was promoting…hmmm.

So….lets talk about the question on the table?  Really?  Stay at home dads?  Who is writing these questions?  Kind of a yawn this morning.  I get trying to engage the man in the discussion…but aren’t we always trying to get them to talk?  And it Monday….let’s talk about something else….like relaxation rituals or the best thing you ate over the weekend…and that would be spinach dip for me people. Yellow and black smiley face with slight smirk clip art.

Good morning Gayle!  I can’t wait to hear your take on the State of the Union tomorrow…and will you talk about Oprah’s big secret reveal that we all know that you have known just as soon as Oprah could push  your speed dial number.  Guess I’ll have to tune in tomorrow to see.  Happy Monday!
