The Florida panhandle was the site of a terrifying car crash that only Karen Clarke knew was coming. A week prior Karen saw this accident coming and did her best to spiritually prepare. Was she able to change her outcome, or did she merely have a premonition of what was ahead of her.
Dr. V and Randall headed off the the city of Niceville, Florida, to find the answers. Dr. V struggles with her scientific side as she looks for a rational explanation to surviving the accident. Randall is curious how someone could have a premonition, ask a prayer group to help her pray about it and then survive it. To him, a miracle seems possible. The miracle detectives met with Karen Clark and listened attentively to her story.
Karen Clarke claims she had dream where she was driving a van and going down a hill. Unable to put brakes on, she saw tops of trees and ravine to side of her. She proceeded to go downhill and over a guardrail. In the dream she knew was going to die. However, she didn’t recognize the area in the dream and figured it wasn’t in Florida. The following day she shared her story with her prayer group. Knowing she was distraught, the group prayed for her and her safety. A week later, she was on her way to the airport in the rain. A truck was driving dangerously. At that time, she noticed she was in the same location she had been in her dream. She saw the tops of the trees, the cliff and even the same guardrail. The truck then headed straight towards her. She was hit. Next thing she knew she was waking up in the hospital. Four people were involved in the accident and no one was hurt. Karen believed it was a miracle and that she had been protected by God.
Randall felt it was possible people can have a glimpse into future, premonitions and even that prayer can affect the future. Dr V still wanted some additional information. The medical detectives decided to head over to Westlake Village in California to speak with Pam Coronado. She is a well-known remote viewer…a term that was actually coined by the military. Remote viewers have been used to set targets without the use of their five senses. Pam Coronado believes you can see beyond limits of time and space. A completely fascinating claim. She decided to demonstrate the technique by having Dr. V and Randall put an unseen photo into an envelope. She then proceeded to describe the photo in small details that really added up. She spoke of shapes, colors, sounds and feelings.
Pam shared with Dr. V and Randall that she has had dreams that warned her of good and bad things that were coming. She believed that the subconscious gives information that can help.
Randall was in awe. There were so many hits that he couldn’t help but to believe. Dr. V still had a hard time believing that people could see the future. If they could, wouldn’t the world be a different place?
Randall decided to head to Thousand Oaks to see a Professor of Religion, Jarvis Streeter, PhD. He spoke of premonition in bible thru dreams and angels. It was a common belief that God did intervene some times sending warnings or informing people via angels or even dreams. Randall notes that some people believe prayers can compound when more than one person prays. Could the power of all of the prayer group’s prayers have prevented Karen Clarke’s death?
Well, Dr. V wondered if it could have been something else that saved her. She met with Devinder S. Grewal, PhD PE, who is a mechanical engineer in San Francisco. He notes that the photos of the accident were far worse than what really occurred. The jaws of life had been used to cut the roof off and the car open, hence the reason the pictures looked so bad. Dr. Grewal summarized that the the evidence of the crash showed that anyone in the accident was very likely to survive. The impact was only around 10-15 mph. Less than 7% of people end up with serious injuries from the initial collision with the pick-up truck. Then her car was pushed under the semi truck as it passed her. It didn’t run over her meaning she was very likely to survive.
This was all Dr. V needed to hear. She couldn’t call it a premonition because there was no tangible change from the premonition to the actual accident. There appeared to be no evidence of supernatural involvement. Nothing changed and the accident still occurred. Randall was on the fence. He believes premonition in dreams is possible based on his own experiences and scripture. He felt validated to a degree that people have precognition. However, he still questions if prayer affect the outcome of the accident. It might have been miracle and he always tends to back the power of believing.
Now for my opinion…premonitions are possible! I even believe people can change the outcome with prayer. Whether Karen Clarke survived because she was more cautious and alert, or because she had the power of prayer behind will never be known. We do know that she had a premonition about an accident that occurred a week later. That is cool in itself. As scary as the unknown may be, I can’t help but be hopeful that help is there when we need it.
So…can destiny be changed by premonition?
