Rosie began the show “off the floor” as her crew puts it – yes, in high heels! Her wardrobe seems to be a struggle at times. As Team Ro works to dress her up, she fights to be herself in comfy clothes. I must admit she always looks amazing. But if she ever wants to chill in target tees and flip-flops…she is welcome to come and hang over. As for the whole high heels issue, I can totally relate. I have a plethora of pretty and funky shoes that I rarely put my toes in. When I was in my way to the OYou! conference, I put on my shiny skirts and opened up the vault. I tried every pair on and every pair killed my feet. After a few hours of trying to decide I finally made my decision. I wasn’t going to wear any of them. I knew I’d make Dr. Oz proud. So, I totally understand Rosie.
The hysterical Martin Short took to the stage with stories of being a Hollywood Catholic, pissing off Frank Sinatra, costars with bad breath, playing poker with billionaires, silly dinner parties and so much more. He never disappoints. Take a glimpse at the conversation he and Rosie had about plastic surgery. Too funny!
The topic then headed to twitter and “to tweet or not to tweet”. Finding it somewhat pointless, Marty resists the pull. Rosie insisted her tweets were boring, but as one of her followers I don’t necessarily agree. She is normal and we love that about her! So my advice, follow her. She’s fun. What I love about is that I only have to commit to reading 140 characters at a time. Love it!
As they came back from break, Martin told a hilarious story about him and the late Tony Randall. Watch the clip and see it all!
Towards the end of the show, the lights dimmed and it became ladies’ night with Kool and the Gang. As the celebration continued, I couldn’t stop myself…I had to groove a little! Note to self- not easy to type and represent funk well. Thinking I will have to crank it up a bit later and give it the well-deserved attention it needs.
The show wrapped without a game…just a little Kool and the Gang love! Check out the clip of their performance here.
