There is something about summer…being able to roll down the windows, feeling the air whirl throughout the car and singing at the top of your lungs. You don’t even care who can hear you. It is summer! Growing up in California, summer always came a little early. I had it made. I lived only 45 minutes from Santa Cruz, a city that felt like summer all year-long. I typically caught summer fever by mid-April. I wasn’t the only one. When the last bell rang for school, we could be found racing away from school and had the summer tunes blaring before we even pulled out of the high school parking lot. The car DJ was one of the most important jobs. With cases of CDs spread out, it seemed that the beach always called for its favorites. There were so many songs! And although it will totally date me, I am willing to share. Here are a few of my favorites that with only a few beats bring summer flooding back.
