With the final day of week one of the O You Boot Camp coming to a close, I find myself surprisingly not wanting it to end. At first I thought we were biting off more than we could handle by starting with Nate Berkus. I knew I had a ton of projects I wanted to accomplish and it was almost paralyzing. Looking back over the week….and the house in general, I am shocked at how different it feels.
The biggest lesson for me was on editing. I have started to filter out the visual noise. Unable to sleep last night, I pulled up Nate’s show on my tiVo. There I was at 3 in the morning, trying to squeeze more tips out of Nate that would change my life. He had an author on who had written about the happiness project. I loved the simplicity of the concept. Change little things to add happiness to your day. This whole idea is deserving a later entry and I will get to that eventually. One thing is clear…although I will be moving on to Bob Greene for week two, I am certain that I will still be carrying Nate with me.
With Sunday night shows coming up in only a few hours, not to mention the Oprah live tweet tonight, I think my sister and I are ending the week as we started it….ambitious! Left on the agenda: sewing buttons on the throw pillows and trying to figure out how to make a button hole; purchasing hardware for the desk, more editing, creating a list for going forward and maybe even sneaking in the dogbed I REALLY wanted to make.
