Thanksgiving has always been a special time of year for our family.  Every year, with our family around the table…some years adding relatives and friends…some years taking it on the road to a different table or the younger years when the “kid” table existed…but always one constant…family…with sometimes an animal or two circling the table in hopes for a few dropped goodies.   Thanksgiving has always been about coming together with family and reminding ourselves that there is always so much to be thankful for…if you just stop and look for it. 

Like so many families today, we begin our standing tradition and annual dance.  We work side by side with testing spoons ready, we argue over too many starches at the table and we snack all day on the veggie and fruit platter that mom always insists on making.  Patience is key because the end result is always amazing.  But it isn’t really about the meal at all…it’s always about the experience.  Today, we will play Christmas music and sing, cook and laugh as we jockey for good counter space.   It wouldn’t matter if we were making soup and sandwiches – it is all about the time we have together and the memories we are making.  This is our Thanksgiving family experience. 

And each year sitting around the table, we go around the table and say what we are thankful for.  Today, one of the new things on that list is YOU …our readers and fellow OWNians.  Today, we wish for all of you, your OWN special Thanksgiving experience…sprinkled with amazing moments and lots of love and memories made. Today, we want you to know how thankful we are that you are part of our daily OWN family. We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and are wishing you laughter, happiness, and experiences to last a lifetime.  Thank you for sharing our JOY for OWN…now, can you please pass the stuffing?
