With the world always bringing me new things, I’ve decided that for living the lesson this week, I am going to focus on what I am letting go of…kind of like cleaning my OWN emotional house. With all of the lessons learned from Oprah’s OWN Lifeclass, it’s time to take a few notes from OWN’s Peter Walsh and clean out some of my emotional clutter. Here is what the list looks like today. My reminder to just let go. Today, I am letting go…
Letting go…
- of stress and worry
- of judgement
- of all control that I don’t have
- of feeling resentful or hurt or not appreciated
- of advice given – good and bad
- of others opinions
- of negativity
- of stressing about what I can’t control
- of the words from little devil on my shoulder named “ego”
- of feeling like I have to do everything all of the time
- of wasting my time on things that waste my time
- of rolling my eyes
- of watching the clock
- of trying to please others…it’s time I do things for me
- of hanging on to bad relationships and their memories, both past and present
- of all the bad photos I’ve ever taken
- of unrealistic expectations I put on myself
- of the past – my mistakes, my losses, my youth, my skinny jeans
- of the limits that I put on myself, my dreams, my world…
- of the weight of my OWN world that I carry each day.
Today is a new day…here in front of me, just waiting to be LIVED. Without all of this extra stuff, I bet I can do anything! Today…is there anything that you are tired of carrying? Well…just let it go. Isn’t it time?
