What would Oprah say?  It’s a question that I ask myself often, as little “Oprah-ism’s” whisper throughout my life.  Often I hear, “God has a bigger plan for me…”repeating itself in my head.  Lately, I’ve been hearing the  “I don’t need to fill my mind up with that…I do not want this in my brain,” and turning away from the things that well…I don’t need to fill up my mind with.  But, what would I say if I met Oprah?  I mean, I’ve never really thought of it.  I used to hope for tickets to her talk show…thinking I would sit in the very back row…on the ground…with somebody on my lap.  That didn’t happen.  It must have not been in the plan.  But, I never really thought of what I would say if I ever met her.  Now…I’m thinking about it…because “luck is when preparation meets opportunity” (another Oprah-ism) and I’m feeling lucky…so I want to make sure I’m prepared…in case there is an opportunity.

So, here is my “O” if list.  It needs some work…but really, I have never thought of what I would say.  I really thought I would stand there speechless and lose my voice and my mind in the moment.  So, I’m jumping off…this is what I would say to Oprah if I ever got the chance…

• Thank you for empowering me with knowledge and words and understanding.  For helping me to believe in myself and understand that I am not alone…and much stronger that I ever knew. My powerful family of women all attended your talk show class…and we are all better people for it.
• Success…if you had to give a lesson on that, what do you think it would look like?
• What does your vision board for OWN look like?
• Have you even considered having a viewer advisory board for OWN as you grow it up? (She totally should!)
• If you could change one thing in the world today, what would it be?
• If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
• What song do you sing when you are happy?
• If you were on that Food Network show, “Best thing I ever ate…” what would you be talking about?
• Do you have a “signature dish?”
• What is your secret TV show indulgence?
• Do you have a favorite breakfast food?
• What are the Top 5 Proudest moments in your life?
• What moments or things do you think of to make yourself happy?
• If you were invisible, where would you go?
• What one object in your home are you most embarrassed about owning?
• How do you do it all?

So…my preparation is just beginning…but I want to be ready just in case because you never know… Life might just get lucky.
