Looking pretty in yellow, Gayle jumps in to the day…I wonder if she’ll answer my questions I posted on OWN and tell us about her vacation.  I mean, really…news schmooze…we’ve been engaged in the news.  We need her to tell us about how GREAT it was to be off!  SOMEONE needs to take a vacation… Anyway…onto the topics.

• On “Friends with Benefits” Movie Premier – Gayle went to the movie with her favorite movie partner and mayor, Cory Booker.  Totally platonic…the only benefits, Gayle tells us, are going to the movies.  But…the review from Gayle is that it’s a great movie to see.  Can’t wait.  Love a good movie!  OMG, Gayle just is sooooo comfortable singing…so funny.  And she will SAY anything, so watch out. 
• On Author Margaret Hoover – Author of “American Individualism” and great grandaughter of President Hoover, Margaret it telling us why we should care about this whole dept ceiling agreement.  “The federal government simply cannot pay for everything,” Margaret spells it out for us.  “We don’t generate enough revenue to pay for all the things that we get.  What we’ve done is borrowed…what congress has said, “Not good so we are going to have a limit on how much we can borrow from other people.”  What happens then through all of this bickering and political fighting?  The government stops running.  How are we going to balance our budget and put the country credit cards?  Margaret sounds very optimistic…and actually is making me feel hopeful.

• On the US Debt Ceiling – The US population is SMART enough to know that this debt ceiling  discussion has turned into DUMB politics.  This is ridiculous.  Is their pay impacted if they don’t figure it out?  Just wondering if there needs to be some incentive…a little dose of tough LOVE.
• On Jerry Ferrara of HBO’s Entourage – Turtle’s in the house and talking about friends with benefits and looking SO good.  He’s made some changes and is now the sleek and sexy turtle model…but still the Turtle we love on Entourage.  At 20, he came to LA with nothing…just a few years ago…and now look.  Gayle is a big fan of the show (me tooooo!) and her questions are fantastic.  When did you know it was a hit? Is there an Entourage movie coming?  No word yet…ah…c’mon HBO…MAKE IT HAPPEN!   Entourage’s last season…so, Gayle prediction – there will be a movie.  I’m with Gayle…a hopeful fan!

• On Rupert Murdoch and the END of the World for News of the World – Just can’t help but wonder if this is Karma.  Just a bit of his empire is crumbling…amidst the phone hacking scandal.  Hacking into crime victims phone messages is truly just unthinkable…this is quite the drama…Rupert Murdoch and his son, James, have been called to testify in front of Parliament today.  History happening…
• On Singer, Andy Grammer – Gayle discovered him one weekend on VH1 – with his song, “Keep Your Head Up.”  Very upbeat…very fun…must love music.  Run. Go. Add it to your IPod now!   Sitting down for an interview, he’s relaxed and fun.  Simply a “fall in love with this guy” interview.  Telling us about his early days, he’d wake up EARLY and troll the streets to open up his guitar case and sing…trying to sell CDs.  After a full day of working and not selling any CDs, he wrote “Keep Your Head Up.”  Great story! Great music!  SO CUTE! Love him…What a way to go start the day!
