About The President’s Announcement – Gayle talks about getting the news late last night from the President:  “Osama Bin Laden is dead.”  Gayle got a call from Tyler Perry…then made calls to her kids and to Oprah…and spent the evening like the rest of us…watching the story unfold. 

Elizabeth & Stephen Alderman – Lost her son Peter on 9/11/2001 – Not sending a good message.  I remember how it felt when people in other countries celebrated about 9/11.  And are you happy that Osama Bin Laden is dead?  “I really feel nothing.” Elizabeth says.  “I am happy we brought him to justice,” Stephen says.  Gayle calls it “a wonderful victory for military intelligence.”  

Like many of us, Elizabeth was wondering, “What would cause the President to have an announcement late Sunday evening.”  “The way you get by is one step at a time,” Stephen tells us.  Elizabeth and Stephen have started a foundation in Peter’s name to help children throughout the world.  www.petercaldermanfoundation.org.  It “gets you outside yourself…and you don’t have any more time to cry when you are helping others.”

About the White House Correspondence Dinner – Gayle was there, the table in front of Donald Trump and had her handy FLIP cam with her! Perfect!  LOVE the BTS footage! One of the funniest White House Correspondence Dinners! But don’t think The Donald LOVED it!
