Gayle starts the week with an awesome new haircut and a little nervous energy about the First Lady and Dr. Jill Biden coming in for an interview today!  It will be shown tomorrow morning people…I LOVE THIS!  Lunch with the First Lady…and the Second Lady… But before that can happen…we have today’s show…so, let’s get started!

About Tax Day – Getting a little few extra days to do your taxes this year.  There are wacky deductions out there and Gayle fills us in on a few…but really…most of us fly under the radar and don’t claim those crazy things.  Gayle is reminding us to do our taxes….less we end up in the company of Wesley Snipes in a cell next to his.  Hello, Mr. Taxman…and hello freebies too!  Something to ease the pain and stress of April 15th.  Freebies for Tax Day…but seriously, I can’t wait for the Freebies for Earth Day.  Starbucks people…free coffee or tea in your own travel cup on Friday…

About this crazy weather – In the last couple of days, tornadoes have been causing terror and loss all over the country.  Lives just changed forever…whole neighborhoods leveled.  Gayle will never be a storm chaser…where she will be is in the bathtub since that’s one of the safest places to be.  We are all sending good wishes and good thoughts to all those who have been impacted by all of this destruction.

About the Sleeping AirTraffic Controllers– Oh, Gayle can’t handle all of these stories.  She’s as outraged as the rest of us are…Crazy!  Sleeping on the job isn’t OK unless you are being paid to be in a sleep study is what I am thinking.  And now, Gayle is rethinking the whole red-eye air travel option.  Best wait til morning…after everyone is well rested and the sun is out…Even with the union taking actions and changing the hours between shifts and requiring more than one person on duty…the question comes up…is this something that’s new…or is this something that is JUST new to all of us?  At least someone is paying attention…now that the rest of the world is paying attention.  Nothing a little worldwide exposure… 

About Hong Kong Airlines – Free Kung Fu lessons are being offered for all airline crew.  Jackie Chan…we need your assistance!  Too Funny!

About Jamie Fox – Academy Award winning actor, singer and now…animated character too!  Last week, Gayle sat down and interviewed Jamie during her “off the air week.”  Rio, the number one movie in the country over the weekend, stars Jamie as the playful Nico, a little birdy along with some beautiful songs.  Go animated films! Go Jamie Fox!  And…they may be talking Rio…but I could swear that Jamie is flirting a little.  I think he’s got some crushing on both Oprah and Gayle.  Too fun…

So…let’s move on to Jamie’s Mowtown show at the White House.  Did the President know what he was going to say?  “No…but he knew,” Jamie says, “that I needed him to laugh.  Just laugh…it will all be okay.”  And his advice on jokes…you have to make sure that the people that the jokes are about are informed and with you so that they don’t sound mean spirited.  So true.  And…for all those wondering…Gayle is asking.  Jamie is “single-deluxe” ladies… you have to love anyone who can make you laugh like this.

About Pam Slaton and Searching For… – Pam Slaton is our favorite genealogist from the Oprah Winfrey Network.  In Searching For…Pam helps people search for parents or children of adoption to lost relatives to important people lost from your life.  This show is great.  Pam tells us how she looked for her own birth mother and didn’t have good results…but she’d do it a million times over.  “It gives you closure…and lets you move on.”  So, how do you not take it personal if someone closes the door on you and won’t engage?  It’s hard not to…but Pam brings up that it’s not a rejection because they don’t know you.  It’s more of a rejection to the thought or the process.  “People can’t be rejected unless the other person knows you,” Pam tells us.  It’s a moving show…one that is like no other.  People should tune in and take a look Mondays on OWN.

About Tomorrow… Watch…the First Lady and Dr. Jill Biden are stopping by today…for a little lunch and a little chit-chat.  We’ll see the interview tomorrow…

About AMC and OLTL – ABC has decided to pull the plug on these soaps.  So sad…I think OWN needs to think about a little daytime drama…THAT would be awesome.  C’mon….think about it.
