Gayle’s likes Barry Manilow…she may even be a little fit of a “fanilow.” I’m thinking we may even break into song today…so let’s get going!
- On Work – Gayle’s been moonlighting for OWN so watch out for another O-All Stars and a Cirque Beatles Love special. An hour of Love…only on OWN
- On Gayle and Kirby’s late night munchies – A late night mother-daughter cookie run to the Staten Island shop, The Cookie Jar proved yummy! Now, Gayle’s got so many sweets from sweet Maria, the owner…who recognized her “Gayle giggle.”
- On No More Wiener? – But Gayle’s fascinated you know…there’s just so many pixs! Ann Curry’s answer from President Obama – “Highly inappropriate…if it was me, I’d resign…” GREAT sound bite. Now, I have to go watch the full interview. I LOVE Ann!
- On Sexting – Testing the limits? Getting empowered? Stepping over the line? Crazy! Have social networks made us social stupid? (that’s my Carrie Bradshaw question of the day!)
- On Michelle Bachman – For President? PUH-LEEZ
- On Barry Manilow – Loves the music…talks about the industry…but don’t talk about his personal life. That’s his…and what has kept him sane over the years. And YES…Gayle broke into song more than once…but to be honest…I did too a little. Barry’s got a new album out, “15 Minutes”…and all of the fanilows will LOVE it.
- On bad customer service – Life is too short…just leave and go somewhere else…or take a breath and realize that they are having a life or a day that you don’t want. Karma…just breath and enjoy all of the NICE people in the world.
- On Tatum O’Neal – Tatum looks AMAZING and is VERY busy these days! Tatum has a new book, “Found: A Daughter’s Journey Home” which I can’t wait to pick up…but even more exciting…she has a new docu-series on OWN! Set your Tivos! It starts this Sunday on OWN…appropriately on Father’s Day…since this is a journey for both her and her father. It’s all about reconnecting with her father, Ryan O’Neal and the journey…and probably even more, the lessons of complicated relationships that we ALL understand. Tatum seems so refreshingly honest about this journey…and how brave of both her father and her to document it.

Tatum on finding her voice
She HAS been through so much…and it’s so wonderful that thought it, she remains connected to her kids…”I have a great family and a lot of love in my family…and I’m still learning and trying my very very best,” Tatum tells us. YES…Tatum, we are all with you…and all learning along the way too. Oh…the journey we all take. I’m getting ready…because I know that this is going to be GREAT!
Barry Manilow on keeping it personal
I hope Tatum can find her center without waiting on her dad to help…he’s the MOST NARCISSISTIC blankety-blank I’ve ever seen. I know these types of people as I’ve lived around 2 of them all my life. He will NEVER take responsibility and be the adult, be the dad. That he’s always whining about how she’s has hurt him…GAG! The man needs to grow up. I hurt with her as I watch him make her responsible for his feelings over and over again. It’s hard, but it’s possible to make a life for yourself without the approval of our parents…some of us just never get that. A hard life lesson but much easier than expecting it of them and continually getting hurt and disappointed.
