Jane Fonda has confirmed it! Oprah Winfrey is officially coming to the big screen and at the side of some serious talent. She will play the wife of Forest Whitaker in a new film about real-life White House butler, Eugene Allen. Fonda made the announcement on her blog revealing that she will be playing the part of First Lady Nancy Reagan. The film will be directed by Lee Daniels who gave us the incredible film, Precious.
Fonda went on to share, “It is a beautiful and true story about a black man who grew up in the Jim Crow South and went to work as a much beloved butler in the White House through many administrations, both Republican and Democratic.”
We are so excited to see Oprah on the big screen again and can’t wait to support her and the film. Congratulation O!
