OWN Canada is casting for a new television series that takes a deeper look at the connections we all make by “getting real, raw and personal.” They are looking for regular people that are willing to share their stories of inspiration based around the common themes of love, fear, acceptance or even regret.
Their hope is to find people who will represent Canada’s diversity. So if you are Canadian and have overcome an obstacle or hope to thank someone who impacted your life OR want to confess something but never found the right way to do so…you may be exactly what OWN Canada is looking for!
Filming will take place in the the Greater Toronto Area starting around May 10th and running through June 3rd of this year. The only requirements are that you are at least 18 years old (or have parental consent) and have around 45 minutes to spare. You don’t even have to have any TV experience. SO…do you have a story to tell? If so, here are the instructions they gave for people to apply.
1. Video submission: Three (3) minutes maximum. Please clearly state your name, age and contact info at the beginning. Tell us something about yourself including why you would be a great person to interview. How would your friends describe you? Have you had a life changing experience? Tell us about it. Let us know when you’re available between Thursdays and Mondays (May 10th to June 3rd).
2. Photo submission: Please include (in writing) your name, age and contact info. Tell us something about yourself including why you would be a great person to interview. Good luck and let us know if you make it!
This is a fascinating idea! Do I have a story to tell? You bet. Also, because of Life Class, my story is unstuck for the first time in a decade. That feels fantastic. I’ll apply for sure.
Terry that is great. We were there as well and really took so much away from it. I submitted a video as well. All the best with remaining unstuck!
Thanks so much, Jim. I really appreciate your encouragement. Now, to taking a deep breath and going for it …
So true we all have a story and I am thankful for oprah’s inspiration because now I have a new story. God did not fail with his creation here.
Is this show dropped? I don’t see it on facebook and twitter anymore…. ??????

Thank you and it was a pleasure meeting you all!
Hi Stacey, We think you might have been wanting to post this on Oprah.com. We are a fan site and not affiliated with Oprah or OWN. We are not sure when this series will air but perhaps if you ask at Oprah.com they might be able to help. Good luck and we hope that you keep coming back to our site!
They’ve changed the name to “Life Story Project”. It’s taken a little longer to film than expected so according to the following site, it will air in January of 2013.
