A new Senior Vice President of Distribution and Strategy has been named at OWN, The Oprah Winfrey Network.   Today the presidents of OWN, Sheri Salata and Erik Logan made the announcement that Meg Lowe was coming to the OWN side leaving her post at Discovery Communications.

Her new responsibilities will include lead sales and affiliate marketing and all carriage negotiations for OWN.  Erik Logan shared his confidence,  “Meg has proven her skills working with distribution partners across Discovery’s U.S. networks and MTV Networks, and I
look forward to putting her expertise to work for OWN.”  Sheri Salata added, “As the network prepares for the launch of its robust Fall lineup and the debut of ‘Oprah’s Next Chapter’ in January, I am confident that this momentum, coupled with Meg’s leadership, will help create lasting win win relationships with distributors and subscribers alike and help expand OWN’s nationwide reach.”

Lowe isn’t new to the industry.  Not only has she shined at Discovery, but she also spent 15 years at MTV Networks in which she oversaw the distribution for all BET and MTV Networks.   I am certain that if Sheri and Erik approve….then this is a GREAT move for The Oprah Winfrey Network!
