Searching For’s Pam Slaton met Juliet Forde at a party for the Felix Organization…and wanted to help turn her disappointments into success! Juliet last saw her mother, Nicole, when she was 5 years old. She will never forget that day. After a trip to the park, her mother stopped in and bought Juliet a shiny red bike. As she gave it to her, she told her that this was the last day she would she her. Her mother placed her into foster care the next day. Both physically and emotionally abused in foster care over the years, Juliet had to put up walls to protect herself. Now…will she be able to let Pam help her?

Pam needed to know that Juliet could handle the search process. She was truly worried about how this would affect her. Unable to trust anyone…this was going to be hard. In order for Pam to feel Juliet was emotionally strong enough for this search, she arranged for her to meet with a psychologist. Feeling defensive, Juliet agreed to try. After the initial meeting, Dr. Jeffrey Gardere agreed to donate his services and continue to work with Juliet during her search. He told her “you are not defined by the horrible and terrible things that happened to you. You are defined at the end of the day by how you work through them”. Juliet came out feeling good about the first session and moved forward in her search.

Pam sent Juliet out to the last known address, a homeless shelter, with a photo of her mother to see if anyone had any information about Juliet’s mother. As emotional support, Pam waited to hear and struggled to find more clues. Juliet had hoped Pam would have had the answers. Instead she found herself searching on her OWN. Finally “taking control of <her> destiny”, Juliet set out to try to get some information. However due to privacy laws, she hit another wall of disappointment. Devastated, she texted Pam for some direction…she just didn’t know what else to do. Pam advised her to leave a letter for her mom at the shelter. It was something. She left the letter and hoped for the best.  

Pam continued to try to get information but hit the same privacy walls. However, she was able to find a more recent address for Juliet’s mother from a different shelter. Juliet got her hopes up again. Unfortunately all life had handed her was disappointment and this new address was no different….simply a false address.

Concerned about Juliet, Pam went to see her with new information. When she arrived, Juliet looked so broken down. The lead stated that Juliet’s mom was no longer in the country and now resided in the UK. Knowing that her resources were limited in another country, Pam tried to reassure Juliet and asked her to have faith.  

Believing she was built to succeed, Juliet held her head up and decided to put out a video in hopes that someone will know something. By the end of the show there was no more leads. This episode broke my heart. I only hope that something comes up and Juliet can find some peace. She deserves a little sunshine!
