Wednesday’s show kicked off with the sleeping bear, Arthur announcing the show. Finally Rosie got him the house and luckily he stayed awake the whole time. Maybe they assigned someone to poke him the whole time. Regardless he had his moment and seemed to love it!
Breaking into song over her battle with allergies, Rosie’s crew took the stage again. I love that she is so inclusive with them. Great for team building! After a few jokes about allergies and an attempt at a conversation with an adorable and incredibly shy young boy, Shane, RO moved on to her first guests.
We got a two-for-one deal…Billy Baldwin and Chynna Phillips. Despite her loss on “Dancing With the Stars”, Chynna appears to be winning in life. The couple shared honest and personal stories about their marital moments (everyone has them) and how they move past the drama. Joking about vasectomies, the rhythm method, renewing their vows at a Holiday Inn Express and Tanya Harding urges. They were great. Armed with a home video of their daughter and her volleyball team, the couple seemed open to discuss anything…including Chynna’s newest show with her sister, “We’re Still Holding On” which airs on the TV Guide channel.
Rosie then brought on 25 year old US Marine, Sgt. Shamar Thomas who recently lit up the internet with his Occupy Wall Street Movement reality check on YouTube. Reminding us all of the power of one, Shamar questioned the police brutality that was occurring within the peaceful protest. Chants of “You’re here to protect us. Protect us” and “my whole family protected this country” noting “this is not a war” so there was no need for riot gear. He went on to tell how in Iraq men were pelted with rocks yet they stood firm. They were there to win the hearts of the people. I think that is lost at times in our country. The struggle for power is all that seems to matter. By the end of the YouTube video, my eyes began to well up. It was so ironic. We fight wars where we ask our men and women to risk their lives each moment and then our own system struggles with the rights we are given. I feel for everyone. The police officers are just doing what they are told. Having large numbers of people in the streets does have a potential for violence and crime, the line is not always clear. I can’t imagine the stress of being one of a few officers surrounded by hundreds of people…that has to be stressful for them. I just wish we would all remember that we are neighbors first. Check out the clips of him on Rosie and YouTube.
The “Little Big Town” took the stage with their own country version of Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way”. Check out there performance here.
To wrap the show, the contestants played a quick game of “Build that Tune”!
Tune in for Rosie’s next guest….Cedric the Entertainer and Nancy Grace!
