Okay….so I started out so amped for tonight’s guests but Rosie is killing me with this Ricky Perry commercial that is out – you know, the one full of meanness and ignorance. With so much information at our fingertips, it amazed me how ignorant and fearful people can be. I personally don’t care who someone falls in love or in bed with….it really isn’t any of my business. Trust me, God didn’t appoint any of us to judge for him so stop pretending he did! Luckily she got us laughing again by showing spoofs of it on youtube. Too funny – enjoy!
Rosie also mentioned she had just gotten a wax. I don’t know. I get the appeal, but I am so opposed to pain that I never even pierced my ears. Seriously! I played hard and broke my arm three times as a kid learning early that no pain is worth it. Talking about landing strips versus clear fields, I could help but chime in (sorry for all of those who don’t want to hear this; I’ll make it quick). I have always felt that all off was a bit creepy. I never understood why I would want to look like a little girl down below. PLUS I would think that grown men should be turned off by what appears to be a childlike who-ha. I always shied away from guys like that…wondering if it was a sign of pedophilia. Okay…so I was raised a bit paranoid. Seeing Vagina Monologue off-Broadway changed my life and the way I think about my body. But I do believe people should do what makes them happy so go all karate kid – wax on, wax off!
Then Rosie shared that she and Michelle went looking at wedding dresses at Vera Wang’s. After seeing her fiancée in her dress, Rosie couldn’t help but feel sentimental and rethink the wedding plans. Listen in.
Following such wonderful news, Donny and Marie took to the stage. I grew up watching Donny and Marie. No stress, no drama, all laughs. It was great! I am so grateful that Rosie included them in her line-up. As they rehashed everything from Donny’s fatty faux-pas, their time on “Dancing with the Stars”, their show in Vegas, Marie’s remarriage to her first husband and so much more! They were so comfortable and full of love and life.
The famous brother and sister duo still continue to playfully rib each other but it is so obvious that they love each other. They have always been so supportive of each other….a true family. Telling stories of how they got their start and their competitive nature, you can’t help but just want more! Luckily Ro got them to sing a song for us all…. A Beautiful Life. Check it out!
The show was wrapping up much too quickly. Of course with the Osmonds in the house, she had to incorporate them into a new game, Donny, Marie or Me? The are so much fun!
Following the game, Rosie had a special cake pulled out for Donny’s birthday….but a little creepy. It was thoughtful of the staff. I totally hope that OWN picks up the Osmonds next year for a holiday special – they’d be great. The world needs old-fashioned holiday variety shows back and Donny and Marie would do it right. Create some Bing Crosby-David Bowie moments for this new generation. To this day, that version of The Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth is one of my favorite holiday songs! Think about it, OWN. AND if it happens, can my family please get tickets?
