Rosie Show

Rosie Recap- Jackée Harry & Styx on “The Rosie Show”

Have you ever thought about what you’d do if you had your OWN show? I am certain that Rosie made a short list and has virtually worked her way through it. First musicals, then game shows, giving away jobs, confetti and drag queen shout outs….and now, playing in a rock band. I began to wonder if she put out on her site “looking for a well-known band that will let me sing with them.”

Before we got to the performance, Jackée Harry’s legendary laugh filled the room and we were a few bottles and glasses short of a great party. Ro and her together are TOO much. Jackée shared many things….her irritation at her teenage boys, hilarious moments from her and Rosie’s past and most importantly her quest to make it onto “Dancing with the Stars.” Do you think she has what it takes?

Rosie is known for going off rail and today, she spent a little time with not one, but two audience members. First we met these awesome fans in drag from Pittsburg. The “Cheesemonger” then graced the stage with not only cheese, but wine and beer. I can only imagine as Rosie turned to the staff and said “Okay I know this wasn’t planned but someone has to run to Whole Foods. Don’t blow it!” No pressure at all.

I only wish the audience could have been a part of the tasting. It wasn’t until my nephew was born that I really got into cheese. I did the standard that most American’s grab for….you know where Muenster is as exotic as we get. But as I would roll my nephew around in his stroller and later the cart, he would insist we go over to the cheese tasting. He loved cheese. The stinkier the better. Go figure. There he was at 4 talking me into spending $20 on cheese. I don’t take him shopping anymore. Seriously.

With a little cheese and beer settle her stomach, Rosie put on her best rocker face and let it all roll. Thankfully Blake reminded her that her rocker-face wasn’t as cool as she thought. She did a great job! Who knows….we may end up seeing Rosie in some dive bar as the lead singer of a cover band. Oh come one….I could totally see it!
