Finding her inner Priscilla, Rosie took the stage in cotton candy shoes and black sequence. She took some time to bond a bit with the audience over allergies, how she hands out insane Halloween treats and stories of mistaken fame moments. She even pulled up an audience member who models and had him walk the catwalk for us. After a little model ribbing, she moved on. Then she was invited into a local book club that she agreed to be a part of. Talking a little about the Hunger Games books – apparently she is big fan. BUT she shared that she isn’t always right since she predicted “The Titanic” as a flop. Hummmm. Once again they are trying to mix up the Q&A section. Grouping as sections and trying to grab one from each area. Unfortunately they were still making changes mid segment as Rosie suddenly found herself finding people with mics. SO..the point – I can’t wait until the wrinkles get ironed out.
The the adorable Lisa Kudrow joined the show. I just love her. She is so incredibly creative. After a few minutes of bashing all the “Housewife of…” shows, Rosie and Lisa talked about all the projects she has been involved in – Web Therapy, The Comeback (which HBO sadly didn’t resign) and Who Do You Think You Are? Honestly I hadn’t heard about the show Web Therapy – a show about a easily bored therapist, Lisa’s character, who does 3 minute web therapy sessions. As they talked about her character on The Comeback, Valerie Cherish, Rosie and Lisa got talking about tweeting and RO learned the truth. She thought Lisa held the alias for Valerie on twitter….but it wasn’t her. Poor Rosie has been talking to strangers. It happens. Then they moved on to Who Do You Think You Are? I LOVE this show. Rosie and Lisa have both been featured on the show which takes a celebrity and digs into the ancestral roots. The journeys are incredible.
Soon after, Bette Midler’s Priscilla Queen of the Desert performed “It’s Raining Men” and “I Will Survive”. The music, the dancing, the clothes, the colors….it was fantabulous! I only wish I lived closer to New York City. Don’t get me wrong I adore my local art programs, but there is nothing like Broadway. Thank you, Rosie for taking us there if only for a few moments.
The next segment was a bit odd, kind of like an infomercial/science experiment. The people of “Ready, Set, Go” set 25 women up with meals, snacks and access to a “slimologist” to help them take off the pounds. According to RO they have a HUGE celebrity on it who will be revealed the day the women come back to show the world their progress. All will be revealed on November 8th. I wonder who it could be?
The not so catchy game show song rang in RO’s newest game, Namez-A-Popppin’. The way it works…Rosie gives you the initials of a famous person and some clues and you do the rest. The game was too complicated for me tonight. I like the easy ones that make me feel super smart. Thank goodness that Rosie lets people cheat a little when they are getting pummeled. Shockingly the guy rocked it at the end with a little help from Lisa Kudrow. All that was left was the confetti!
Tune in tomorrow night for Rosie’s next guest…Valerie Harper & Kevin Bacon and the Bacon Brothers!
