Whenever the show opens with an empty stage, I know we are in for a musical number or someone is performing. Either way…I’m up for it! Rosie announced to us that she had lost 10 pounds in 10 days. However she went to Art Smith’s restaurant and that would be enough for me to put it all back on. He is amazing! She was good though….ordering healthier fare. She actually couldn’t stop talking about the braised brussel sprouts with pancetta. Now a new fan of veggies, Rosie was excited about Rachael Ray being in the house.
Rosie’s first guest was young girl who in the documentary “I Am Jazz”. Ever since she was born she felt like a girl…yet she was born in a boy’s body. It wasn’t that she liked girl things, she felt like a girl. With more than a 40% suicidal rate for gender identity disorder, the family decided to embrace her being true to herself. Now 11 years old, she is grateful for her parents and siblings.
As she approaches puberty, the family knows they have to make some important decisions for about taking hormones blockers. Jazz was adorable and appeared to be a happy little girl…we should all be so lucky with our children. When RO mentioned Chaz, Jazz commented that he was like a hero to her. Of course….Rosie had a surprise and Chaz was there. Check out the clip of them meeting for the first time.
Following the break, Rosie took some time to talk with Chaz. In case you don’t know, him and Jennifer are coming back to OWN with “Being Chaz” starting November 27th. If you didn’t catch the first series, please don’t miss this one. It will be incredible!
Rachael Ray joined the stage and she and Rosie talked about their DWTS costume phobias. They then went into exercise tips. Rachael mentioned that she didn’t really start exercising until she had surgery on a clogged gland in her throat at the age of 40. With Thanksgiving around the corner, Rachael was ready to make sweet potatoes. It sounds yummo! Take a look. I am going to try the maple syrup one!
Here are a few more recipes from OWN including one for brussel sprouts.
At the close, Rosie brought out Chaz and Rachael to join contestants in a game of “Relatively Famous”. Hollee actually made the game announcement and I liked it so much better. Good call. Enjoy the game clip!
