So no one can argue that Rosie’s heart is at least 10 times larger than the average do-gooder. Literally 8 minutes into the show and I am searching for Kleenex. Rosie…I love you! I don’t want to spoil anything so just take a look.
Once I cleared my watery eyes, Roseanne Cash was on stage and talking about how she had brain surgery. What? I need to come out from under my rock occasionally. Self-diagnosed, it took years to get a true diagnosis. As she spoke about her new book, Composed, we are reminded of how much loss she had. She then told a great story. When she was younger, she had a loss of a different kind. Someone broke in and stole all of her jewelry. Her father, the famous Johnny Cash, reacted by sending her a piece of jewelry every week. Opening a package she’d find a note stating “my love is more precious than Cartier watches” along with of course, a Cartier watch. Thoughtful acts of a loving father. His daughter was always important to him. He even made a list of “100 Essential Country Songs” which served as her education. Following more stories about her children, the fires from her childhood and twitter, she put out a plea for her lost guitar. Did you take it?
Roseanne was a wonderful guest….very authentic. Of course they couldn’t let her out of there until she sang a little something….and thank you, Ro. Enjoy!
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, Rosie welcomed Jane, an 84 year-old single looking for love and ready to take Rosie on! Around 65 she joined a senior’s basketball team. She had never played before. Now she is addicted and dominates the National Senior Olympics. She was simply adorable. You have to see these clips.
Then watch Rosie take Jane on. Praying Ro goes easy Jane. Don’t check her hip too hard!
