OH MY! For a moment, I thought that someone dressed Rosie in a curtain. It was a total Carol Burnett moment for me. BUT it appears she is sporting her new show staple….the blue snuggie. From now on, every guest that comes through the door will get their very OWN Rosie Show snuggie!
Once again an audience member opened the show. Holly, a recently unemployed after school worker with mad skills in teaching performance arts, a choir director, dance, a band manager, did a phenomenal job at announcing. I’m thinking….looks like a good fit at the Rosie show! She was so comfortable. Maybe she can be a special correspondent or something. “The Girl on the Street” – okay maybe that isn’t the best title but you get the picture. Just as I was thinking it…Rosie offered for her to chorography a number with the Broadway Boys next week. Feeling at home, Rosie even showed off her Spanx shirt. I had no idea Spanx made shirts….CRAZY!
RO’s first guest of the night was Sara Ramirez, best known as Callie on Grey’s Anatomy. For the first time I heard the story of how she got her TV gig. After winning a Tony Award for Spamalot, ABC offered Sara a part on any show she was interested in. She was totally into Grey’s Anatomy and was fortunate enough to land there. Although it was originally a short stent, she turned into a long-term job. As all of us Grey’s Anatomy’s fans know, she is AWESOME on the show. Good grab ABC! Talking about the love of food, exercise, Patti LuPone and living the Broadway life. We even got a serious treat…Sara sang a bit of “Meadowlark”. Her voice is amazing…seriously.
Next up the stage was Common…rapper, poet, actor and author. Plugging his new book, “One Day It Will All Make Sense”, he shared his love for poetry. He even shared a few tips for picking up women. His technique…hit up the museums or aquariums to find women with some depth. Learning and introducing new things is an important piece of life for him. That is so refreshing to hear. A strong, handsome man telling women he looks for substance. It is clear that he is a poet at heart…it shows. Talking about his love for his mother, pursing your dream, and his first love, Common gave all of us a good taste of whom he is….and we LOVE it. He will be staring in a new show “Hell on Wheels” which starts Nov 6th on AMC. At the close of his interview, RO mentioned his foundation, Common Ground Foundation, which support Chicago youth.
The show wrapped with a cute game of “You Do Know Jack” and confetti, of course!
