My New Year’s plans just changed! As OWN viewers, new beginnings have become a part of daily life. Now, we all can rejoice in another. It was a little less than a year ago that my sister and I sat in front of the Oprah Angel and the dreams of two hard-working sisters took form. As the 1 year anniversary approaches and we are about 1,000 articles in….JOY is rising.
Oprah is finally ready to take us along for the next part of her journey and she is no longer stapled to the studio. The long awaited “Oprah’s Next Chapter” is finally around the corner. The 2-hour premiere hosts Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler at his home in New Hampshire talking about everything from drug addiction to “American Idol”. So, as we all recover from welcoming in the New Years, we can collectively come together and embark on our newest spiritual journey.
“After 25 years I got myself out of the studio chairs. I moved into the next chapter, and I am having more fun than ever – moving around the country and the world talking to people I’m really interested in getting to know and I think viewers will be, too,” said Winfrey. “It is so energizing to be out and about in the world exploring new people, new places and new ideas.”
So…I will meet you at 9 p.m. EST on twitter and on our couches for “Oprah’s Next Chapter” on January 1st….unless of course Oprah invites me over to hang with her. Dream big people!
Each week starting at 9pm on Sunday, Oprah will spend an hour with some of the most interesting leaders, celebrities and families of our time. The first season alone will cover her journey to Haiti with Sean Penn, to Skywalker Ranch with George Lucas, to a slumber party with Paula Deen and to a small town in Iowa for some meditation. I want to know – how can we get that gig? I’m just so grateful we all get to be a part of it. Thank you, Oprah!
“I sat at the dinner table with a Hasidic Jewish family and tried to explain to the children who have never seen a television what TV is…can you imagine? I fire-walked with Tony Robbins – never pictured myself doing that! I celebrated the power of God and community with Joel Osteen and I’m planning a trip with Deepak Chopra to India where I’ve never been,” Winfrey added.
Once again the 2-hour premiere is Sunday, January 1st at 9PM and then will continue the following Sunday at 9PM for an hour each week. Don’t miss out and be sure to get the comfy seat on the couch! Here is a look at the series from OWN. Enjoy!
