I wasn’t sure how this was going to work — a live radio show on TV?  Gayle is a brave woman was the first thought I had.  Then, I thought how wonderful to see America’s best friend everyday…because that is who she is.   Maybe it will be like when she talks to Oprah.  This will be my “phone call with Gayle” for the day.  It’s almost that….kind of….but not really…yet.

The show was different than what I expected at first…but I definitely think it is fun and has a heart.  Overall, I’m still open and undecided.  Gayle shines the most when people are there with her…maybe because it feels so lonely when she’s alone with that big empty chair by her.  Go figure…or when she talks about something where you can feel the passion…so much better than some of the callers and the topics.  I’m just sayin’, sex before marriage?  That’s keeping it light, but yes, we can handle tougher topics. 

Finally, let’s PLEASE talk about the Gayle King show song.  OMG Gayle.  Let the spelling thing please go!  We love you but nobody sings along to a song that spells a proper noun.  YMCA is so 1970’s.  I love that you love it…but please let that criteria go when you look for a new song.  How about the Beatles, “With a Little Help From My Friends”?  If you want to go current, think Corinne Bailey Rae or U2…that would be sophisticated, yet fun and upbeat. Find us a song that will make us smile!  PLEASE just don’t make us SPELL.  Maybe I’ll call her @ 1-888-442-9535.
