Each Friday, we are taking a look back over the week and bringing you our “Top 5 Moments” of OWN programming. With so much uplifting television, it will be difficult to narrow it down, but we will do our best!
- “Oprah’s Master Class” with Ted Turner – In this episode, we are reminded of Ted’s love for the environment and humanity and the principals that guide him. It’s a set of guidelines that we could all use a little reminding of every once in awhile. We listed all 10 initiatives for you in the article “A New Set of Rules to Play By…his Voluntary Initiatives.”
- “The Rosie Show” featuring Dr. Oz – Rosie admitted to Dr. Oz that she hates parts of her body. But that didn’t stop her fiancee, Michelle from reaching out. In fact, she touches those uncomfortable places. When she asked her why, Michelle told her, “Because I feel sorry for the parts of you that you hate and I want to teach you that there are no parts of you that I hate.” If only every person got it like Michelle, the world would change.
- “Oprah’s Next Chapter” featuring Sean Penn – Called to action by watching the devastation of the Haiti earthquake, Sean Penn jumped into action. Within six days, he filled a private jet with pain medication, doctors and antibiotics destined for Haiti. Arriving he found a golf course that people had been creating a tent city out of. Seeing a need, he got permission from the golf course owner and the government to try to change the lives of those people. His two week mission swiftly turned into a life changing event.
- “Money Class with Suze Orman” – Suze gave us two websites to help us to find money we never knew we had. Check out the sites on your own at http://www.missingmoney.com and http://www.unclaimed.orgAlthough we found nothing for us, we seemed to find money for a lot of family members. Guess we know where all money is…Suze would be proud.
- Where’s @jonnysinc?- Okay, so this isn’t an OWN show but I have to give a shout out to Jonny Sinclair for chronicling his long days via twitter instagrams. Oprah should totally send him out tweeting around the country giving us clues to his location. But…until he becomes our next Matt Lauer, we’re enjoying the pics from his long days. Too funny and always a treat. If you aren’t following this guy….you need to. Thanks, Jonny, for brightening all of our days!
