Each Friday, we are taking a look back over the week and bringing you the “Top 5 Moments” of OWN programming each week. It will be difficult to narrow down, but we will do our best!
- “America’s Money Class” with Suze Orman – With so many people struggling financially, Suze put it all in perspective. “Do not feel less than because you owe more than.” A powerful message that we all need to keep in mind.
- “The Rosie Show” featuring Chelsea Handler – Chelsea shared the message from her mother when she was dying which caused her shift into adulthood. It was both touching and a great reminder of what is truly important in life.
- “America’s Money Class” with Suze Orman – Pre-paid credit cards don’t report to the major credit card agencies rendering them useless towards improving FICO scores. Suze’s goal is to change the paradigm for people who pay with cash. Their responsible behavior should count towards their credit history. So she offered an “Approved Card” for only $3 per card per month. It’s the first pre-paid debit card that shares information with TransUnion. After 18 months, TransUnion will decide whether or not to use the credit history towards your FICO score. We LOVE Suze!
- “Super Soul Sunday” film “I Am” with Tom Shadyac – The emphasis on life shouldn’t be on competition but rather on cooperation….that is what has made humans unique. Reconfirming that as a whole, living in a democracy, we have the ability to solve anything. We just have to come together and cooperate.
- “The Rosie Show” with Rosie addressing the Ellen issue – I loved that Rosie took time to address the hate group that was focusing on JCPenney to remove Ellen DeGeneres as their spokeswoman because she was gay. Allowing clips from Ellen and mentioning Howard Stern’s interview, she spoke up and called out the lunacy. So often hate groups hide in costumes: ones of religion, in hoods and even as mini-van moms. There is NO place for hate in our world today.
Don’t see your favorite moment here? Well…leave a comment and share it with other us and the rest of the OWN family.
