The big story – Oprah has a half-sister that she knew nothing about. What is the story on the story, Gayle? I loved Oprah on the webcam. It was so honest….so normal….so REAL.
And wow…Oprah telling us how Patricia has jumped in to help Oprah’s mom after her stroke since she is nearby…what a loving spirit…It totally helps to have a sibling around…this I know. As my own parents get older, I don’t know what I would do without my two sisters to help me out. Not that either of my parents need my help, but the support system of having someone and not feeling all alone – well that is priceless. I hope that beautiful things come from this relationship for Oprah and her family…what a wonderful beginning. I think that is what I was thinking with I was talking about in last night’s 5am post. The tag line on the show said, “Oprah Farewell Season,” and this was like the beginning of a new chapter. How ironic. What a story…
So, this post would not feel complete for me if I did not comment about some of the things that are being said in other articles or by fellow writers about Oprah’s big reveal. Shame on the haters and the ugly voices that question the timing and why this was done. Really – ratings people? First, get a calendar…it’s not February people and seriously? This is Oprah…when has she ever had a problem getting ratings? Second, if you can’t see honesty when it is presented to you, then perhaps you just can’t see honesty. So sad for you. Third, do you really feel better by taking a clearly personal story that was only shared because of the tabloid society that we live in and making it a source to fuel your mean spirit and conspiracy theories of why it was done? Sheeeeez….get a life.
Ok, I digress…back to Gayle.
Florence Henderson….America’s mom…how easy and great was that interview? Mrs. Brady was so fun… I never knew that her mom left when she was young. My mom’s mother left when she was only 6 years old…and I have always marveled at what an amazing woman and mother she is. I think for some people, they just get it. Others, I suppose it’s like an “immersion” class where you are dropped into the middle and just left to figure it out. And still others, I suppose they watch reoccurring 70’s shows like “The Brady Bunch” and learn. My favorite episode: Davy Jones. He was so dreamy back then….Anyway, who knew….Mrs Brady is a cruiser and a cougar. You Go Flo! I enjoyed the segment. She was fun!
Finally, the Rohm’s story is a little crazy. For Pete’s sake, he was SERVING THE COUNTRY by working for our President. Really, now you are going to make it hard for him because he’s been on an extended business trip trying to take care of OUR countries business? So, he rents out the house to be frugal and save money and be fiscally responsible. Wouldn’t you? I could use a little extra cash….and if I had an empty house that would be an idea I’d consider. Just crazy. Hopefully, the Illinois Supreme Court will be a voice of reason….and keep their opinions above the political fray.
What’s up for Wednesday, Gayle?
