Good morning. Gayle King’s giving up Charlie Sheen and all Charlie Sheen coverage for lent. Good luck…he’s everywhere. She wants to know what her listeners are giving up. I give up…swearing. That’s what I’ll give up.
About Our America’s Pray the Gay Away with Lisa Ling – Gayle mentioned the show briefly…and read some of the kinder comments off of Facebook. It is a conversation that we will be talking about for many years to come.
About the White House Conference on Bullying – It’s the first ever…with the first couple battling bullying. The conference is tomorrow. Let’s have a discussion….and let’s get some real suggestions on what we can do. Speaking of bullying…with Target’s support for anti-gay candidate, Lady Gaga has ended that relationship. Good Gaga.
About Flying and Radio Signal Devices – Do they interfere with all of the flying equipment? I’m not sure I’m convinced…but maybe.
About Hangover 2 & the President – Did former President Bill Clinton really make a cameo…or was it lunch, like they are trying to make us believe? Gayle thinks he’s in it….why else would he make the drop by? “We’ll see,” Gayle says.
About collecting Comic Books – Gayle leads with a little tid-bit about Gayle’s Ex – OMG, a little peak into her ex-husband. He had comic books that Gayle was not allowed to touch. But the .12cent Spiderman book….selling for over $1 million. Geez…I was certainly collecting the wrong things when I was little.
About Josh Groban – I remembered when Oprah surprised Gayle with Josh Groban showing up and singing to her…Josh looks so grown up in his glasses, but so young in his tennies. He’s handsome, either way. “I love performing..when I listen to myself, I go into work mode and wonder, how I can make this better,” Josh tells us. “Dating is going just fine…don’t fix me up Gayle,” Josh says as his sweet little puppy joins us on the set. It looks like this is the love in his life…for now.
About Suze Orman – Suze Orman has a new book, “The Money Class,” and she’s on the GKS this morning. The American dream is dead … says Suze…but learn to create your new American dream. Suze says, “This is the hardest book I’ve had to write…I’m not a pessimistic person…” So, the old American dream Gayle reminds us is being married, a home, a couple of kids, and enough money to do stuff…”It’s not about what you make, it’s about what you spend,” Suze reminds us. “Live below your means, but within your means,” Gayle quotes from the book. “This is a book of 9 classes….and the key to opening up every door is simply standing in your own truth,” Suze tells us. “You need an 8 month cushion,” she reminds us. Oy Veh.
About Suze Orman’s Tips – “Don’t ever sign up for overdraft protection,” Suze says because you are lying to yourself and that’s how the bank is making their money. “If you want to be powerful, you have to know about money,” Suze says adamantly. This is how so many others make money – off of our own financial ignorance. It doesn’t have to be this way, Suze tells us.
About Financial Infidelity – “There is a reason why you don’t tell someone the truth…and the problem is bigger than financial.”
About everything else… it’s all just gravy. I know you have to be tired Gayle…because you were up as late with the Lisa Ling and Our America show…so, take your pretty tangerine top and pink shoes home…and go get a nap! We’ll see you tomorrow!
