Things heat up for Robbie this week and this time it wasn’t in the kitchen! An old flame was heading into town and she was determined to get a little time off work. In the meantime, one of her employees was hosting a foreign exchange student, Marissa, from Spain and Charles was smitten himself. Even better….Jenae got to hold young TJ for the first time. Love was on the menu at Sweetie Pie’s!
Tim watched as Jenae held their son…not quite ready to do the same. She felt it was about the stress, but I think it had to do more the fragility of life. TJ was still so young and it appeared Tim was still not convinced he was out of the woods and a little nervous about holding his life in his hands. I can only imagine how stressful it would be to hold such a tiny baby especially with his big hands. Hopefully in time he will realize he can’t break him. However Jenae worried about Tim and thought counseling would be a good call. He didn’t need a counselor….save money and just force him to sit down and hand him the baby! Check out the deleted scene of Tim and Jenae as they talk to TJ’s doctor about his progress.
First TJ reaches 2 pounds, then Regions Bank approved their loan and even Charles convinced the foreign exchange student to go to the zoo with him. I am not quite sure she realized it was a date. After 40 years, Robbie’s time with Thomas sure did appear to be a date. Following drinks and a little low impact dancing, Robbie tried to hold herself back from thinking too much of it. Their last date was full of compliments and ice cream. Nothing makes you feel young like an old love. I am certain they will be seeing each other again. But Tim needs to be careful. Clearly his mom doesn’t like being teased. I am thinking he is a bit protective over his mom…someone he hasn’t had to share in years.
As Charles date approaches he finds himself in a bit of a jam. His license was revoked for driving without insurance. He pled with Tim to loan him $400 to which Tim replied that he would do better in serving a few days in jail. With only 30 minutes to spare, TJ asked around for a ride to the zoo. Luckily Tim allowed Pops to drive them. I just hope they have a way back! He only walked away with a kiss from the sea lion which didn’t surprise me being that he asked Marissa if she had money for a taxi. In the end, it was a “just friends” date. BUT something did come from this carless date….a used car dealership. Robbie was willing to spend $2,000 and pay his $400 fine. That’s what happens when people get tired of carting you around or being asked for rides. Just please don’t wreck this one, Charles!
With TJ doing better, Jenae finally had time to think about the wedding. She and Tim’s cousin Monique headed out to a bridal show. It was getting a little easier to breath. The next important milestone for TJ was just around the corner…his first bottle feeding. Jenae drilled into Tim NOT to be late and of course he was. That would drive me crazy. I hate that their moment was lost in irritation and disappointment. Luckily Tim went to his own therapy session boxing it out. In the ring, he got some sound advice – talk to Jenae. Sometimes it takes hearing it from a stranger. In his next visit to see his son, Tim appeared to be more present. Not only was he singing “You Are the Sunshine of My Life” to his smiling son and fiancé. It was the first real bonding moment and was truly special.
Next week….Charles is out cruising, Robbie is pissed and Tim commits to cooking for around 5000 people. Get ready for the fireworks!
This is such a “real reality” show, leave it to Oprah to “bring it” for real. I just love Lil Charles, he is the depiction of today’s young people, wanting always for someone to bail them out. And Tim is a fine man, even though Janae gives him hell all the time, she is so lucky to have a man like that, she wants to castrate him though. Why did she listen to that cousin, if Tim feels like he might hurt the baby, give him some time, you don’t need a therapist for that. And I was disappointed in Sweetie Pie not taking up for her son when she and Janae talked about it at the salon. Tim is a real man, and men don’t talk, talk, talk like women do, just leave him alone.
