This week’s guest mentor….give it up everyone for Arsenio Hall….WOO WOO WOO WOO

The assignment this week….a monologue for a late night show AND an interview with Arsenio….let’s go.  Go find the funny in yourself….at the historic Laugh Factory at an improve class.  Let’s be funny this week people!  Please… 

The Prep…Team Vision – Terey is the comedian in the group….but Aunt Flora LOVES with a big red heart Arsenio….so Terey takes an off camera seat as the Exec Producer with a little trepidation.  Let’s go.  Krisina in the monologue queen this week….let’s go.  Arsenio thinks this team has an agenda….and were focused…what about Team Focus? 

Team Focus – Tony (aka Dr. Tony) is dubbed the Exec Producer this week.  Zach wants the interview….Eric wants the monologue.  It is, after all, what he does for a living…being funny.  Perfect, right?…natural comedians…how can they loose?  Arsenio walks into the room in the brainstorming session…and Dr. Tony and Alicia did a lot of schmoozing…but where is the plan?  The pre-meeting lacked a little focus….but hey….they made a celebrity friend.  

At the Laugh Factory, we get some comedian exercising and workouts from Sundra, the laugh personal trainor….and then, Dr. changes it up mid-stream and has Alicia interviewing Arsenio…and Zach the monologue….Ryan…behind the scenes.  Wow….Dr. Tony….this is a bold move and really, does not make sense….what are you thinking?  Ryan is hilarious!  I didn’t think they could loose this but Team Focus….I think you might have just made the worst decision ever.  We’ll see… 

Team Vision has a little Aunt Flora attitude….but she’s a little right.  When everyone else is telling her how she needs to be, she comes back with the need to be herself.  “Be yourself,”….isn’t that what Oprah said?  But maybe take the constructive criticism and be a better you….how about that? 

The Taping…Team Focus starts out unfocused for the rehearsal.  Dr. Tony was a little all over the place….and is really relying on Ryan to run the show.  Who’s the exec producer here?  Hello?  Ryan has to push back a little… So, it’s a surprise that during the live taping, they were great.  Zach did a great job…coming out with a desk on his wheelchair!  So funny.  And Alicia seems very comfy….but maybe wasn’t plugged into the guest.  Was she totally listening? 

Team Vision – Terey seems to have it under control…but Aunt Flora seems very unconfident and nervous.  For the live taping….Kristina was good…surprised again!  Who knew!   Aunt Flora….it just didn’t click…I think your big red heart for Arsenio got in the way.  Kristina tried to save it…but poor Aunt Flora.  I think it’s time…I think Arseno will be carrying her out to the curb…like he carried her into the interview segment. 

The Elimination…Terey and Aunt Flora are on the chopping block this week.  Terey comes out for her 1:1 and tries to get personal and deep….and it works.  She comes prepared and is so connected…with such a good question. Now comes Aunt Flora…still a little nervous…going from spirituality to in the kitchen and cooking….a little loss of vision.  So sorry Auntie…but buh bye.
